Pennie Foiles Berk, of Leander, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2026, at the age of 57, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 29, 1968, Pennie lived a life marked by strength, compassion, resilience, and an unwavering appreciation for every moment she was given.

For the past five years, Pennie courageously battled pancreatic cancer with remarkable grace and determination. Through every challenge, she continued to truly live life — embracing time with family and friends, finding joy in everyday moments, and reminding those around her not to take a single day for granted. Her strength inspired everyone who knew her.

Pennie’s warmth, love, humor, and generous spirit touched countless lives. She had a way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and deeply cared for. Though our hearts are broken by this loss, we are profoundly grateful for the time we shared with her and for the memories that will forever remain part of us.

Pennie is survived by her devoted husband, Adam; her daughters, Lauren and Emma; her son-in-law, Mason; her twin sister, Regina; her sister, Barbara; her brothers, Wil and Sean; as well as many beloved in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory always.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Waldtraut Foiles; her father, Austin Foiles; her sister, Eva Hyatt; and her father-in-law, Herb Berk.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered forever.

In place of flowers, contributions can be made to the University of Texas Berk Family Research Endowed Excellence Fund, which supports BRCA-related and pancreatic cancer research. Pennie was highly involved in establishing this fund and was passionate about advancing cancer prevention and treatment.
