Obituary

Peggy Sue Lewis passed away November 28, 2022, at the age of 82 in Georgetown, Texas.  Peggy was born on April 19, 1940, in Houston, Texas to Thurman Talmage and Hattie Juanita (O'Neal) Williams.  She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Bobby Williams and her husband of 55 years Bob "Coach" Lewis.

Peggy attended school in Marble Falls, Texas where she met the love of her life, Bob.  Peggy the beautiful tennis player from the big city of Marble Falls and Bob the quarterback and country boy from Spicewood.   They quickly became high School sweethearts and their life together had begun.

Peggy and Bob were married, June 26, 1959, and honeymooned at the Villa Capri in Austin.    Peggy attended business school at Nixon Clay while Bob attended college and played football at Southwest Texas State University.   They quickly started their family, with their first child, Kim arriving July of 1960, followed by Shari in 1963 and Kip in 1965.  Peggy and Bob purchased their first home on the outskirts of Austin, known as Crestview, in 1963.  The "Richcreek Gang" were and still are precious lifelong friends.  Peggy began her career in 1961 at the Law Firm of Sneed, Vine and Perry on Congress Avenue.  Peggy was very proud to be working at the prestigious and growing Austin Law Firm and worked continuously over the course of 30 years.    Peggy was forever grateful for the love and support that the law firm family provided to her family.

Peggy loved to travel and had fond memories of many family trips to the River Inn in Hunt, Port Aransas, Hawaii, New York, and her very special trip to Paris at the age of 80.  Peggy proudly took on the role of a grandmother.  Grammy loved and adored her grandchildren and became only known as Grammy to her entire Community of friends.  As the grandkids began their lives playing sports and involved in activities, you could always find Grammy and Papa in the stands as their biggest fans cheering on the grandkids and lifting the spirits of all their friends.

Peggy and Bob lived the "Friday Night Lights" life for 25 years.  During this time Peggy became loved by hundreds of adoring students at Anderson, Lanier and McCallum High Schools who often saw mom as their family support.  In 1994, Peggy and Bob retired to the country in Round Mountain.    Many years of infamous Halloween parties and haunted hay- rides, holiday celebrations, hunting, and family campfires forged lifetime memories for her kids and grandkids.  Peggy and Bob evidentially settled in Georgetown to be closer to family.

Peggy is survived by her children, Kim O'Mary and husband, David; Shari Shepperd and her husband Greg; Kip Lewis and his wife, Christina and daughters Samantha and Alex.  She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kendall Pavlica and husband Allen and son Jackson, Tyler O'Mary and wife Alexa, Casey Boone and husband Brandon and daughter Birdie, Garrett Shepperd and fiancé Megan, Cooper Lewis,  Dean Lewis and fiancé Sami Jo and Brittany Bynes and daughter Zoe.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff at The Tiffin House in Georgetown.  Thank you for the amazing love and care given to our precious mom.

We would also like to acknowledge St. David's Georgetown, ICU and for going above and beyond in caring for mom.
