Obituary

Patrick Michael Case was born on November 19, 2015, in Syracuse, New York, and tragically passed away on April 8, 2026, in Austin, Texas.

At just one year old, Patrick moved with his family to Round Rock, Texas, where he grew up in a welcoming community filled with sidewalks, trails, playgrounds, pools, and an amazing neighborhood school. It was a wonderful setting for a social and curious child—and Patrick fully embraced it.

Patrick loved people. He found joy in the outdoors and in exploring the world around him. He had an incredible appetite for life—and for food—never picky and never missing a meal. He was deeply curious, with a love for science and history, and a passion for hands-on learning.

He adored his two dogs, Sugar and Frank, and had recently reconnected with his love of reading. He enjoyed riding his bike, skateboarding, swimming, exercising, and playing baseball—both on the field and as a New York Yankees fan. Patrick loved building with Legos and Gundams, collecting Pokémon cards, and playing imaginative games of “army” with his Nerf gear. Above all, he cherished his friends and family.

Patrick was an energetic light—kind, generous, compassionate, strong, silly, and funny. He had an understanding and appreciation for music well beyond his years. His laughter, warmth, and love were magnetic, drawing people in and making them feel truly seen. His absence leaves a profound and heartbreaking void.

In his ten years, Patrick created a legacy far greater than his time here would suggest. He had an innate sense of goodness. He connected with people for who they were, unbothered by differences, and made others feel valued and understood. He showed loyalty, courage, and a willingness to stand up for what was right. He was naturally generous, deeply empathetic, and wise in ways that touched people of all ages.

Patrick is survived by his loving parents, Jonathan and Mary Case; his sister, Elizabeth Case; and countless family members and loved ones who will carry his memory forward. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Laurie Donovan Case.

A service celebrating Patrick’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 25 at First United Methodist Church of Round Rock, with a reception to follow in the Family Life Center and courtyard. The service will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend.

The livestream will be available at: FUMC-rr.org/watchlive
