Patricia Lou Anderson (88) passed away peacefully in her home on September 21st, 2026. Pat was born in 1938 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Edith (Edie) and Millard Thomas (Mac) McGuire. She graduated from Fargo Central High in 1956. During her high school years she was in newspaper and drama clubs and performed as a majorette. In Fargo she also worked part-time as a radio talk show host doing interviews with some famous people, including Liberace.

Pat attended college at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis). Later, while she was employed at the Minot Air Force base in North Dakota, she became reacquainted with her former classmate, Jay F. Anderson and they were married in 1964. They moved following Jay's aviation career to various locations in the Midwest, including Texas, Kansas and Missouri. In Savannah, Missouri she worked as a swimming and lifeguard instructor for the Red Cross. Later, she was a dedicated animal shelter volunteer for many years in Ottawa, Kansas. Besides being a homemaker and devoted mother to three children, in her spare time she enjoyed horse-riding, dressmaking, knitting, needlepoint and oil painting, as well as card and board games.

In 2000, she and her husband Jay retired to Sun City in Georgetown, Texas. Here, she was known for her volunteer service at the Caring Place. In addition, she was an active member of the Crestview Baptist Church and spent much time volunteering for the Prayer Committee and Camp Crestview during the summer. Pat made friends wherever she went and was known for her gregarious personality and generosity, as well as her passion for always trying to help the underdog, human or other animal.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Michael Owens McGuire.

She is survived by her children Randi Jandt (Jon Larson), Tony Anderson (Shelley Harrington) and JoDee Anderson (Fernando Seco) and two grandchildren Emma and Marcos Seco-Anderson. A celebration of life for friends and family will be held later (TBA) at her Wesleyan home.
