Norman S. Hofer, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away at his home August 24, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Chicago on November 27, 1940, to Eric and Elsie Hofer, he lived much of his life in Illinois.   Norm moved to Texas in 2014 and lived the remainder of his life in Sun City where he was extremely active in clubs and groups and made several new friends.  He lived a life filled with love,  laughter and kindness.  Everyone that met him was fortunate to experience his huge heart and supportive nature.

Some of the hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life were steam trains, tractors, bowling and playing poker with friends.  Norm never missed watching a hockey game on tv or cheering for his favorite football team, The Green Bay Packers!

He also found joy in classical and operatic music.  He attended many concerts at Orchestra Hall in Chicago along with watching Metropolitan operas on the big screen.

Norm and Judy loved going to the movies and eating their butter popcorn, which became a staple on Friday nights.

Norm was heavily involved with the Community Presbyterian Church of Clarendon Hills for over 20 plus years as a Deacon and Elder and always enjoyed the fellowship CPC gave him.

Norm always checked in with his grandchildren,  so proud of their accomplishments.

His legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to guide and inspire us all.

He is survived by his wife Judy of 61 years, their children Nicole Korensky and Mark Hofer, his grandchildren Olivia, Graham, Kaiya Korensky, his brother Roy and sister-in-law, Cynthia Hofer along with nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service to be held at the San Gabriel Presbyterian Church
