Obituary

Norma Jean Coleman, 84, of Georgetown Texas, passed away on November 21, 2016, after a long illness. Norma was born on October 18, 1932 in Dunkirk, New York to Harry and Anna Burow.

She attended New York College for Teachers at Buffalo and earned her Master's Degree from St. Bonaventure University. She was an art teacher for more than 25 years and ended her teaching career at North Shore Senior High School in Houston, Texas where she earned commendations for Outstanding Educational Achievement from the National Education Association. Norma loved world travel (early travel to Japan and more recent travel to Antarctica), the arts, movies, Senior University, politics, and her beloved dogs and her friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years James F. Coleman of Hornell, New York. She is survived by Stephen Coleman of Houston, Texas and Jennifer Coleman of Chicago, Illinois.

A celebration of life will b held at the Cowan Creek Center in Sun City at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 26, 2016.
