Myrna was born on February 4, 1929 in Brown County, Texas to her loving parents, B. F. and Amy Jewel (Welch) McCormick.  She married Merlin E. Hoppe on August 31, 1947 in the same county as her birth.  Myrna and Merlin were married for 68 years becoming the proud parents of two children, Jan (Hoppe) Simpson and Jeff Hoppe.  They have lived in Georgetown for 38 years.

Myrna was a homemaker, realtor and in jewelry sales. She was known by all as an excellent seamstress. She was also a faithful member of Crestview Baptist in Georgetown and a regular contributor to the Billy Graham Association.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, B.F. and Amy Jewel McCormick, her sister, Kathleen McCormick Wheat, and her brother, Billie McCormick.

She is survived by her husband, Merlin E. Hoppe, of Georgetown; daughter, Jan (Hoppe) Simpson of Georgetown; son, Jeff Hoppe and his wife, Kathy, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandsons:  Chad Simpson and his wife, Susan, of Kerrville, Texas, Todd Hoppe and his wife, Emily, of Portland, Oregon, Brian Hoppe and his wife, Becky, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Amy Gallagher and her husband, Victor, of Round Rock, Texas; great granddaughters: Raleygh Simpson of Kerrville, Texas and Henley Gallagher of Round Rock, Texas; great grandsons:  Braxton Simpson of Kerrville, Texas and Jack Hoppe of Portland, Oregon as well as her loving nephews, niece, and other family.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Ramsey Funeral Home on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.  A reception will follow the service.
