Monica
Molnau
January 22, 1964 – June 1, 2024
Monica Molnau, beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Great-Aunt, of Leander, TX passed away on June 1, 2024 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 60 years old.
Monica was born on January 22nd, 1964 to Joseph F. and Saturnina (Valadez) Brady in Alice, Texas. She was the first daughter and third child of her family, which would soon end up as a full house of six children.
On October 7th, 1989, she had her first date with Andrew and they became Army Lieutenant & Mrs. Andrew Paul Molnau on July 13th, 1990. They were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia, Minnesota and Andrew adopted her then 6 year old daughter, Corrine Elizabeth, on April 4th, 1991.
Monica was a devout woman of God who loved spending time with her family and friends. From RV camping trips with her husband to flying here, there and everywhere on standby using her daughter's flight benefits, there was always an effort to see family and friends. She knew a good deal when she saw one! She loved her little garden and delighted in sharing pictures of her roses, tomatoes and zucchinis. She also was big fan of Mallo cups, Archie comics and Air Supply (yes, Air Supply). Monica loved puzzles (but not ones with 1,000 tiny pieces!) word searches, balloons and especially bird watching! In her memory we ask you to feed your local birds, for they are always hungry.
Monica was preceded in death by her dear Mother, Saturnina (Valadez) Brady in 2008, her brother, Frederick (Fred) in 2003, her sister, Brenda in 2021 and their beloved family dog, Buster, in 2014.
Monica is survived by her husband Andrew, her only child Corrine (David) Hayes of Rhome, TX; her Father Joseph F. Brady, of Carthage, NY; siblings Allen Brady & family of Sutton, MA; Gary (Grace) Brady & family of Navarre, FL, and Jane (David) Doucette & family of Kennesaw, GA. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, one great-niece, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, & loved ones. She knew everything that was happening with all the members of her family and truly cared and celebrated everyone's successes. No one sent more cards through the US Mail than Monica – her kindness will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at Ramsey Funeral Home and Crematorium at 5600 Williams Drive in Georgetown, TX 78633 on Tuesday, June 11th from 2 P.M.- 4 P.M. If you are so inclined, please donate to the American Cancer Society in Monica's memory and keep up with your individual cancer screenings.
