Michael "Mike" Phillip Vargo, III, 84, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Round Rock, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer.

Michael was born on April 23, 1942 to Mike and Opal Vargo of Scarbro, West Virginia.  He was a graduate of Mount Hope High School and West Virginia Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.

Mike lived in Houston, Texas the majority of his life and worked for several prominent petrochemical engineering companies over the years.

He is survived by his sons, David (Sabina) Vargo of Allen, Texas, Bryan (Jody) Vargo of Platteville, Wisconsin, and Stephen (Jen) Vargo of Arcadia, California.  Mike is also survived by his brother, David Jeffery (Jamie) Vargo and eight grandchildren.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Georgetown, Texas.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15th, 2026 at Ramsey Funeral Home. 

An Inurnment ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas.  Following the ceremony, the family invites you to join them for the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Georgetown, Texas.
