Obituary

Michael Paul Bushner passed away in his home in Sun City Georgetown Texas on April 5th, 2024. He was born to loving parents Michael P. and Pauline F. Bushner, on July 2nd, 1937. Michael served in the US Air Force for 4 years and was honorably discharged in 1959. Michael met his wife Veronica (Ronnie) while he was passing through Chicago while on assignment from his Air Force base in Cheyenne, WY in 1956. They continued to correspond for the next 2 years and were married at Notre Dame Church on July 5, 1958. Following his discharge, Michael and Ronnie spent the next several years living and working in the Greater Chicago area where they gave birth to and raised their son, Michael Anthony Bushner, who passed away as the result of a tragic accident shortly after they moved to Texas in 1973 for work at M&M/Mars. Michael continued to work for M&M Mars until he retired 35 years later.

Michael and Ronnie enjoyed travelling, making numerous trips to California, Florida, Hawaii and Alaska, and to New England during the fall to see the foliage. They also made several trips outside the United States including ones to China, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Bora Bora.

Michael and Ronnie moved to Sun City in 1998 where they participated in many of the "Block Events". Michael never passed up the opportunity to wear a costume and socialize!

Michael is preceded in death by his parents Michael P. and Pauline F. Bushner, his son Michael Anthony Bushner, his wife of 64 years Veronica (Ronnie) Frances Bushner, and his brother James Bushner. He is survived by his siblings, William D. Bushner and wife Jeannie, Robert T. Bushner and his wife Deb, his sister Mary (Bushner) Heyer and her husband John, sister-in-law Janice Bushner, and many nieces and nephews.

Michael will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and his "adopted family" -Irma and Armando Guerrero who were by his side when he passed, and their 4 children, Ashley, Jose, Jacob and Matthew, who provided their "Uncle Mike" with love, caring and comfort.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made in the name of Michael Bushner to the "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital".

A prayer service, followed by a memorial service, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15th, 2024 in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home. A time of fellowship will follow in the Reception Hall of Ramsey Funeral Home.
