Michael Wayne Bergthal, age 63, passed away on June 17, 2026, in Temple, Texas.

Michael was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He always seemed to have a joke, a smart remark, or a comeback ready, and he had a way of making people laugh even when they didn’t feel much like smiling. Whether he was teasing someone he cared about or finding humor in everyday situations, Michael made life a little lighter for the people around him.

If there was one thing everyone knew about Michael, it was that he was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. He never missed an opportunity to talk a little smack to anyone cheering for another team. Win or lose, he stood by his Cowboys and enjoyed talking football with anyone willing to listen.

Above all else, Michael loved his family. He cared deeply for those closest to him and treasured the time spent with them. He was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend whose presence will be greatly missed. The memories, laughter, and stories he leaves behind will continue to bring comfort to those who loved him.

Michael is survived by his wife, Pamela Bergthal; his son, Brian Bergthal; step sons Christopher Lagard, Dustin Lagard, and Jerimie Lagard; his mother Janie Bergthal; his brother, Steven Bergthal, and wife Norma Bergthal, and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly including grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Bergthal; grandparents Elizabeth Knapp, Barney Daniell, and Grace Daniell; and great niece Gracelynn Delve.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Florence City Cemetery in Florence, Texas.

The family would like to thank everyone for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time. Michael will be remembered for his humor, his love for the Dallas Cowboys, and his ability to make people smile. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
