Merlyn Lynn Henry Jr.
Affectionately Known as "Pa Pa"
February 16, 1955 – July 18, 2025
Merlyn Lynn Henry Jr., lovingly known to his family as "Pa Pa" and to childhood family and friends as "Lynnie," passed away on July 18, 2025, at the age of 70 in Round Rock, Texas.
Merlyn was born on February 16, 1955, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to the late Merlyn Lynn Henry Sr. and Helen Lorene Henry. Growing up in a military family, he had the privilege of traveling across the North, South, East, and West and even as far as Africa. These early experiences gave him a deep appreciation for people, cultures, and the beauty of the world.
He graduated from Sam Houston High School and later attended college. Following in his family's tradition of service, Merlyn proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer (MP), with assignments that took him to Korea and beyond. His time in uniform reflected his discipline, loyalty, and deep sense of duty.
Merlyn was married earlier in life and was blessed with two daughters, Heather Morgan and Crystal Henry. Later in life, he welcomed his son, Merlyn Henry III, into his life with great love. He loved his family deeply and found his greatest joy in being "Pa Pa" to his grandchildren. Whether he was telling stories, sharing wisdom, or simply enjoying their company, Pa Pa had a special way of making each grandchild feel truly seen and loved.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his children, Heather Morgan and Merlyn Henry III; his brother, Jimmy Henry; his sister, Kari Davidson; his brother, Jeffery Henry; nine grandchildren, Nathan Paul, Lauren Morgan, Mathew Westfall, Joshua Morgan, Zephaniah Davis (Joshua Davis), Christopher Morgan, Chosen Henry, and Promise Henry; and two great-grandchildren, Crystal Paul and Hezekiah Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlyn Lynn Henry Sr. and Helen Lorene Henry, and his beloved daughter, Crystal Lynn Henry.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support shown during this time.
We will love and miss you always, Pa Pa.
