Obituary

Today we remember and celebrate the life of Maureen Lue David.

Maureen was born on June 27, 1954, in California to Ola Marie Mullins and John Thomas Mullins Sr. She was a fraternal twin to her sister, Corleen Sue Meyer, who remained not only her sister but also her best friend throughout her life.

In her early years, Maureen's family relocated to the Georgetown area. She grew up with a deep love for horses and the outdoors, often riding her horse through the park in Georgetown. It was there she met the love of her life, James David Sr. The two were married on July 1, 1970, and went on to share 55 wonderful years of marriage—building a strong family and a life rooted in love, devotion, and faith.

Maureen possessed a strong work ethic and, for many years, was the owner of the Greyhound Bus Station and Western Union in Georgetown. Through her work, she met and befriended countless people. Outside of work, she enjoyed the peace and joy that came from spending time with her horses and fishing for catfish along the San Gabriel River, at the pit, and on local lakes.

Maureen is survived by her two sons, James Jr. (Andrea) and Justin (Casey), both of Granger, Texas; and by her five beloved grandchildren—Corey, Keirstyn, Ryan, Jeffrey, and Ryder—who brought her immense pride and joy. She is also survived by her sister, Corleen Sue Meyer, and brother-in-law, Johnny Meyer, brother Eddie Catron and sister in law Pam Catron.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James David Sr.; her mother, Ola Marie; her father, John T. Mullins Sr.; her stepfather, Herman Catron; and two brothers, Arthur Mullins Sr. and John T. Mullins Jr.

Maureen will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, the values she instilled in her family, and the joy and laughter she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to live on through her family and friends.
