Obituary

Matthew Lewis was born in Austin, Texas on April 10, 1990. He was the only son of Rodney and Elizabeth Lewis. Matt had two sisters, Marjorie and Katy. Matt was raised next to his grandparents Floyd and Helen Cantwell. He enjoyed playing in the junk yard his grandfather owned. He loved learning how to work on cars with his dad and the trade of knowing anything about the salvage yard life. He spent a lot of time growing up with all his aunts, uncles, cousins and childhood friends. Naturally, Matt was a loving Christian and raised in church. Miranda and Matthew attended the same church and circle growing up their entire life. Matthew was a very funny character. He loved corky jokes and pranks.

Matthew and Miranda married in his grandfather's house in 2013 and later had their two sons, Jackson and Joshua. His family meant everything to him. He was always the one to pickup and drop off his boys. When he had to work and watch them, he took pride in letting them help. Matt was very loving and helped anyone in need no matter what. He took pride in being a jack of all trades. Hunting and fishing were a main part of his life. Providing meat and canning garden food was a tradition he carried on and implemented in his family's life. Country was his lifestyle and he always loved being in nature.

Matt was such a loving person. He would give a stranger gas money or something for food if he saw them in need. He spent most his years working beside his grandfather Floyd and his uncles, Lester and Larry. He helped in the junk yard, at any rental property and with the livestock. His memory lives on thru his children, family and friends. Anyone that knew Matt knew he was the smartest loving person. He could spread joy with kind words and a smile.
