Obituary

Mary Joan Fallon
May 20, 1954 – November 30, 2025

Mary Joan Fallon passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 30th. Born on May 20, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was lovingly raised by her parents, Alan and Joan Donaldson, alongside her four beloved siblings. Her childhood was full of warmth, laughter, and adventure as the family moved from Kansas City to the Boston area and ultimately to the Jersey Shore, where she graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School. Mary Joan formed lifelong friendships during those years and those friends continue to cherish her memory today.

After earning her degree from Trenton State College, Mary Joan settled in Houston, Texas, where she discovered her life's calling as an elementary school teacher. Through her Science and Math classes at Red Elementary School, she inspired countless young minds. Her students remember her as the kind of teacher who made learning exciting, accessible, and full of possibility.  Her impact lives on in the many lives she touched.

Mary Joan's life blossomed further when she met and married the love of her life, Robert Fallon, with whom she shared 37 wonderful years. Together they welcomed their cherished daughter, Christine, in 1984. After retiring in 2016, Mary Joan and Bob moved to Sun City in Georgetown, Texas, where they immersed themselves in a vibrant new chapter filled with loving and supportive neighbors, social gatherings and card games.  Her morning swims with the beloved "Pool Babes" became a constant source of joy.

Nothing brought Mary Joan greater joy than her granddaughters, Ellen and Hazel. She delighted in every photograph, every accomplishment, and every story she could proudly share with family. Her love for them was constant, radiant, and unmistakable.

Mary Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Alan and Joan, and by her loving husband, Bob. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Christine, and son-in-law, Trevor Highland, as well as her treasured granddaughters, Ellen and Hazel. She is also survived by her siblings, Kathleen, Patricia, Robert, and Andrew, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Mary Joan's legacy is one of education, loyalty, and happiness.  She will be remembered for the warmth she brought into every room, the friendships she nurtured across decades, the students she uplifted, and the family she loved so deeply.
