Mary Pauline
Byrne
February 12, 1940 – January 26, 2026
Mary Pauline Byrne, Marie, passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2026, in Cedar Park, Texas. Born Mary Maneggio in Brooklyn in 1940, she was the youngest of the seven children of Mary and Carmello Maneggio. While the Maneggio family struggled through the Great Depression and World War II, Marie was deeply connected to her mother and her siblings Sonny, Bobby, Marion, Margaret, Rosie, and Julia. Marie was also extremely close to her niece, Gloria, being only eleven years apart in age.
Marie went to a secretarial high school and afterward had a career working as an administrative assistant until she married Thomas Byrne, her long-time boyfriend, in 1972. Marie and Tom bought their first home on Staten Island and had their only son, William, in 1976. They moved to Howell, NJ, in 1986, where she would return to the workforce at Applewood Estates until she retired in 2010. That year, her first granddaughter, Elinor, was born, and Marie and Tom moved to Georgetown, Texas, to be close to her son and his wife, Suzanne. She survived breast cancer twice. She lost her husband in 2018, but remained active until she began to suffer from Alzheimer's disease.
She loved to dance to her favorite music of the 1950s, she traveled every chance she had, she loved to read, to cook, and to care for others. Marie never left a room without making a new friend. She was extremely outgoing, confident, charismatic, and caring. Her loss will be felt by her friends and family members for a very long time.
She is survived by her son and his wife, her three granddaughters, Elinor, Audrey, and Vivian, and too many close friends to list here. Her service will be at Ramsey Funeral Home on February 6th at 2 p.m.
