Martin Ernest
Parker
Dec 11, 1926 — Jul 11, 2026
Martin E Parker
Martin was born on December 11, 1926, to Willie and Dorothy Parker. His brothers and sisters who predeceased him were Lorraine, Edith, Jack, and Faye. He died on July 11, 2026.
He is survived by his three children: Laurie (James and Allyson grandchildren), Terry (married to Wanda)(grandchildren Michael, Chad, Jeremy, Tara and Kaylee), and Skipper (married to Kathy)(grandchildren Nikki, Josh, and Heather). He was a happy and proud paternal captain to a wonderful extended family of 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 6 great/great grandchildren who evolved from his first marriage.
Martin was fortunate to have been married to two wonderful women. The mother of his children was Frieda Lou Stringer Parker who died December 1997. He remarried in June 2000 to Francinn Shaw, also affectionally known as Fran or Grandy.
Fran and her first husband, Jack, were also members of the First Baptist Church, Round Rock TX along with Martin and Frieda. Jack died in 1997. Fran passed in October 2021. We embrace Fran’s family; Kevin and Cristi (married to Dennis), 2 grandchildren (Whitney and Taylor), and 4 great grandchildren.
Martin served in both WW2 and the Korean War and was on three different ships. On these ships he managed each ship’s post office. He was stationed out of San Diego and San Francisco.
Upon leaving the service he became a mail carrier in Austin, TX. Later, he moved on as a rural route mail carrier for the Round Rock Post Office and then eventually served as the Postmaster of Round Rock until his retirement.
After retirement Martin poured his passion into the replication-making of depression-era wooden toys, a skill that both of his grandfathers passed on to him.
