Obituary

Martha Schneider passed away on September 29, 2024 at the age of 74 in Round Rock, Texas, from complications related to cancer. Her grandfather Glen Truax founded the St. Patrick's Day parade in Shamrock, Texas, and Martha loved attending the event every year. Martha was born on July 31, 1950, in Mineral Wells, Texas to Arline and Rex Meek. She grew up in Texas and Oklahoma, lived 41 years in Cincinnati, Ohio, before retiring with her husband to Liberty Hill, Texas. In addition to raising a family, Martha worked in customer service, did clerical work, and ran her own craft business.

Martha volunteered 13 years at her children's school and sports activities. She was very involved with her church community including choir, fundraising, and even dressing up as a clown. Martha was a dog lover and had many furry friends who enjoyed her loving care. She played the flute, was an efficient golfer, and was the women's doubles bowling champion for the Cincinnati region.  Martha was a generous and joyful person. She donated time and money to causes that were important to her. Her energetic laugh and warm smile could brighten any room, and she was never afraid to let her thoughts be known. She left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

A church service will be held at 1pm on October 4, 2024 at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Andice, TX. She will be buried at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown, TX. In lieu of flowers, Martha requests donations to Sophie's Hope Foundation (sophieshopefoundation.org) to support her granddaughter's condition. She is survived by her husband Mike, her brother Jim, her children Phillip, Geoff, Amanda, and her grandchildren Isabel, Sylvia, Eva, Rosalie, Sonja and Eleanor.
