Obituary

Marshall Lawrence Walters went home to be with his Lord and Savior late on December 9, 2023.  He passed away peacefully after several months of significant illness.

Marshall was born on July 6, 1949, in Liberty, Texas to Marvin and Lottie Walters.  He attended and graduated from Hardin High School in 1967.

Marshall served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971, achieving the rank of second-class petty officer.  He specialized in electrical mechanics.  After military service, Marshall worked in the construction and heating and cooling industry.  Along with owning his own business Marshall, worked for IBM and later retired from Austin Energy.

Marshall married Shirley Barrett Walters on March 1, 1969.  They have been married 54 years.  Marshall and Shirley began their life together in Hardin, Texas and have made Liberty Hill, Texas their home for the last 41 years.

Marshall loved spending time with his family.  He enjoyed woodworking and created many special gifts for his family.  Marshall also enjoyed his Jersey cows and the simple farm life he created at his home.

Marshall is survived by his loving wife Shirley Walters of Liberty Hill, TX; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Eric de la Houssaye of Liberty Hill; his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Scott Ferrell of Liberty Hill; his son and daughter-in-law Lance and Julie Walters of Liberty Hill.  He is also survived by his grandchildren and their spouses: Cory and Genessee Ferrell, Aileene and Colby Watson, Morgan Ferrell, Megan and Jordon Weber, Michaela de la Houssaye, Kelsey de la Houssaye, Charles Ferrell, Marshall Walters, and Elyssa Walters.  Marshall is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren: Harper and Addison Ferrell.   Marshall is survived by his siblings: Wynette Walters, Judene Crocker, Patty Roberts, Robert Walters, Randy Walters.

Marshal was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Lottie Walters; his siblings Genette Walters, Geneva Walters, Dennis (Rusty) Walters, Peggy Bearden, and Marvin Walters.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Ferrell Barn – 101 North San Gabriel Loop Liberty Hill, Texas, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023, with a brief reception to follow.
