The Honorable Mark Jerome Silverstone, 65, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014.
He was born in Brownsville, Texas on May 30, 1949 to parents Mark and Helen (Edelstein) Silverstone. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received his BBA and Law Degree. He married Georganna Copeland on March 7, 1998 in Georgetown, Texas.
He was an attorney for over 33 years and served as a District Judge in Williamson County for over 6 years. Judge Silverstone was instrumental in the founding of the CASA program in Williamson County in 2009. Along with the other Judges who heard CPS cases, Judge Silverstone invited a group of dedicated citizens to begin the process of starting the program. He was a partner with Sneed Vine and Perry of Austin for 33 years. He went on to be appointed to the 425th District Court of Williamson County in 2007 by Governor Rick Perry. Mark will be remembered as a cowboy, attorney, District Judge, Chamber of Commerce Board member and former member of Rotary Club.
The family would like to thank the friends that continued to visit Mark during his illness and also thank the owner's and staff of Sedro Trail Assisted Living for their continued loving care.
He is survived by his wife, Georganna of Georgetown, Texas; stepsons: Travis Perthuis and wife Brittany of Georgetown, Brett Perthuis of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Elliot Silverstone and wife Diane of Austin, Texas.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13th at Ramsey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14th in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home with Dr. Eric McKinney officiating and assisted by Dr. Steve Langford and Rabbi Alan Freedman. A reception will follow immediately after the service, in the Reception Hall of Ramsey Funeral Home.
