Marjorie E. Cluck passed away quietly on Monday, August 30, 2021 at her home in Georgetown, Texas. She will be missed by her children Terri and husband Kirk Kelly; Cathleen Cooper; Michelle and husband Thomas Hainze; and Tracy and wife Alicia Cluck; her grandchildren Kyle Cooper; Michael Hainze; Sean Hainze; Maya and husband Stewart Chapman; and Chris Cluck; her great grandchildren Devin Cooper; Jerrick and wife Alex Cooper; Akira Cooper; Kaylee Hainze; Kasy Hainze; Emily Cluck; Shelby Cluck; CJ Cluck; and Charlee Chapman; and her sisters Kathryn Powell and Rose Marie Luckie.  Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband Orin S. Cluck, Jr., her parents Theodore R.  and Viola May Powell and her brothers Teddy Powell, Charles Powell and William Powell.

Marjorie was born April 7, 1928 on her parent's horse ranch and stagecoach station in Buda, Texas along the Onion Creek. She was the oldest of six children. Later her family moved to Austin where she graduated from Austin High School. She met and married Orin S. Cluck, Jr. in Austin after World War II and they raised their family in south Austin. Orin worked as a police officer and autobody manager specializing in fiberglass restoration. Marjorie began working in her teens as an elevator operator at the Scarbrough's Building. She held many jobs such as counter clerk at Walgreen's, records assistant at the Department of Public Safety, a florist at Cliff Fort Florist, and a salesperson for lady's foundations at Yaring's Department store. While raising her four children, Marjorie completed her Associates degree from Durham Business College and started her 20-year career as a tax examiner for the IRS. Upon retirement from the IRS, Marjorie worked part-time at Foley's in Barton Creek Square Mall until she was 74. She worked diligently and joyfully to support her family and to serve others. As so many that grew up during the great depression, she never complained, she just did what needed to be done.

Marjorie loved, laughed, and devoted herself to her family including all the stray dogs and cats we brought home over the years. Marjorie provided sanctuary for a stray cat project that caught, spayed/neutered, then released stray animals into the care of landowners.  Besides her family and animals, Marjorie loved to yodel and listen to country music. Hank Williams and Dolly Parton were her favorites. After the passing of her husband and mother in February of 2006, Marjorie made the tour of visiting her children in Texas, Arizona, and Wisconsin. She decided to stay in Wisconsin with her daughter, Cathleen, and grandson Kyle and his family until she returned to her roots in central Texas three years ago.

Marjorie had a great sense of fairness and a large and giving heart. Things she loved were bluebonnets, handwriting letters to long-time friends, Wheel of Fortune, Daniel Green shoes and handbags, bejeweled jeans, and anyone family. Marjorie was a good woman with a kind soul and will be missed by her family that loves her still.

Marjorie will be laid to rest in Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, Texas. A graveside memorial service and celebration of life will be held in a few months once her final headstone is placed.
