Maria Theresa
Molina
Jan 7, 1978 — Sep 6, 2026
Maria Theresa Neylon Molina, 48, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026.
Maria was born in Key West, Florida, on January 7, 1978, she spent her early years growing up on multiple Navy bases. Being born into a Navy family, gave Maria the opportunity to experience life in many different places around the world before her family eventually settled in Sterling, Virginia, where she started 1stgrade.
Maria grew up in a very close and loving family. Family gatherings were filled with uncles, aunts, grandparents, cousins, and friends. Some of her favorite childhood memories involved singing karaoke and the furniture being pushed out of the way to make room for dancing. Those experiences shaped her strong sense of family and community that remained important to Maria throughout her life.
Maria was persistent and determined in pursuing her professional goals. Her tenacity won her the respect and adoration of her colleagues and peers.
A guiding philosophy for Maria was “If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room” which was reflected by surrounding herself with people who challenged her, taught her, and encouraged her to grow.
Maria’s greatest joy and sense of pride always came from her family. Naturally, she was an amazing mother and having children of her own brought a special meaning to love and happiness. Her children were her greatest blessing, and she was so proud to be their mother.
In 2017 Maria moved her family to Texas in search of a slower pace of life. She found her community. She made friends with some wonderful people and built strong relationships. She watched her children make friends and thrive. She found happiness and joy in her life.
Maria will be remembered for her unwavering strength, determination, spirit, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her smile could light up a room and her laughter did. She was fiercely loyal, loved deeply and was devoted to her children.
Maria is survived by her two children, Eric and Sofia, her parents Richard Neylon (Kathy) and Socorro Neylon, and her sister Stephanie Neylon (Pete) Grittini, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members, and friends.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
the service will be held on September 24 at 11 am, with the reception being held at the family home.
