Obituary

Lynda Patsy Miller, 83, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at her home on June 6, 2026.

Lynda was born on December 8, 1942, in Goose Creek, Texas, to Monroe Luckett Johnson and Velter Carpenter. She was a proud graduate of Bayou Chicot High School, Class of 1961. On December 20, 1974, she married the love of her life, Don Miller, in Austin, Texas. Together, they worked for over 40 years at Catfish Parlour, both at the North and South locations. Lynda loved waitressing and especially enjoyed visiting with people, particularly her regular customers. She was a wonderful cook, remembered for family favorites such as gumbo, potato salad, coleslaw, and her famous sweet potato pie. Lynda and Don loved taking car trips and simply being together. It was rare to see one without the other. She also enjoyed shopping for bargains, collecting Vaseline glass and birds, getting her hair done, and, of course, her coffee. After Don’s passing in 2021, Lynda remained in her beautiful Georgetown apartment, where she found joy and peace sitting by her large window and watching the birds.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Faith; her brothers, O.E., Aubry, Darrell, and Terry; and her beloved husband, Don.

She is survived by her children, Willie Benoit Jr.; Bronwin Montgomery and husband Kelly; Denise Barnes and husband Mike; and Debbie Springer and husband Barry; her brother, Lannie Johnson; her grandchildren, Donald Barnes and wife Teri, Jonathan Barnes and wife Katie, Kayla Rossi and husband Jason, Stacy Carlson and husband Matt, Stormy Mauldin and wife Bella, Dusti Mauldin and boyfriend Dylan Berry, and Wyatt Montgomery; and her great-grandchildren, McKenna, Bradley, Witten, Elizabeth, Scarlett, Madeline, Jake, and Hailey. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Barbara Johnson and Patsy Johnson, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to Loretta Sedwick, Lynda’s longtime caregiver and dear friend, for her tender care and support over the last few years.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the family cemetery in Turkey Creek, Louisiana.
