Obituary

Louis Clark Reggio Jr. suddenly departed this earthly life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 21, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his faith, wife, family, friends and his community. Lou touched the lives of so many who had the blessing of knowing him.

Lou, known affectionately over the years as Louie, Dewie, Dad, Panga, Dadio, and Luigi, born on October 4, 1949, in Washington, D.C., to parents Harriet Ann Buchheister Reggio and Louis Clark Reggio Sr.

Those left to cherish Lou's memory include his wife, Marsha P. Tucker Reggio; his daughter, Stephanie Carpenter and her husband Brian of Boerne, Texas and children Addison and Tyler Hummel, Katherine, Andrew and Nicholas Carpenter; and his son, Michael Reggio and his wife Diana Carolina of Indianapolis, Indiana; his daughter, Jessica Edwards and her husband Bryce of Monroe, North Carolina and children Coren and Eva Schlesinger. He is also survived by his stepsons, Christopher J. Chomel and his wife Kathleen of San Marcos, Texas, and Justin A. Chomel and his wife Tracy Briscoe Chomel of Round Rock, Texas.

Lou had a special bond with his step-grandchildren: Alyssa Chomel Fernandez and her husband David, Katheren Chomel Delong and her husband Adam, William Chomel, Caroline Chomel, Reagan Chomel, Addyson Chomel, Magrath Briscoe and Scarlett Briscoe. His great-grandchildren Maddox Delong and Jackson Fernandez brought him additional joy.

Lou is also survived by his sisters Cheryl Reggio, Betsy Davis, Happy Nichols, and Cathy Reggio; his brothers Carl and George Reggio; and his stepbrothers Thomas and Peter Szabo. He is also remembered by his brother-in-law Shawn Davis and sisters-in-law Trisha Reggio and Janis Reggio, and first wife, mother of his children, Barbara Scruggs. Lou enjoyed making memories with his nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis C. Reggio Sr.; his mother, Harriet Ann Buchheister Reggio; his stepmother, Eva Szabo Reggio; his brothers-in-law, Glenn Nichols and Richard Pechman; and his stepbrother, Adam Szabo. Lou graduated from high school in 1967 and attended the Capital Institute of Technology, where he put himself through college and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. He began his career as a Field Sales Representative for AMP Inc. in the mid-to-late 1970s. He trained new field reps, worked with telephone operating companies, and engaged with many OEM companies-offering design guidance and providing connector products used in manufacturing. This experience laid the foundation for the rest of his distinguished career in the connector industry. He earned the prestigious "Man of the Year" sales award twice during his time at AMP Inc.

Lou continued to thrive in the industry, working as a District Sales Manager and major account manager for Molex Inc., supporting clients such as Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems. He later became the National Sales Manager for Panasonic North America's Honda Connector Division. Eventually, he founded his own firm-InFocus Associates, Inc.-which represented Honda Tsushin Kogyo Company (HTK HONDA) connectors in North America. Lou led this firm for 19 years, right up until his passing.

Lou married the love of his life, Marsha Tucker, after meeting on Match.com. Lou had recently relocated to San Antonio, so he and Marsha arranged their first in-person date at a wine tasting room in Dripping Springs on January 16, 2020. They spent hours in conversation-and as the saying goes-the rest is history. Both Lou and Marsha believed wholeheartedly that God had brought them together. They were united in marriage by Pastors Tanner and Abby Lee on May 7, 2023, at The Oaks in Sun City.

Their marriage brought together a beautiful, blended family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Their shared faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of their daily lives, and together they built a life filled with love, travel, entertaining, racing, pool time, and, above all, family.

Lou didn't just have hobbies-he loved his hobbies, diving deeply into each one with passion and curiosity. His joy for gourmet food and wine earned him the nickname "Chef Luigi," and he formed lasting friendships around the tables of his culinary creations. Photography brought him profound joy, allowing him to preserve treasured moments, including his final photo shoot at daughter Jessica's wedding just a week before his passing.

Travel was another passion-he meticulously planned trips across the globe and developed a basic vocabulary in several languages, enough to spark a conversation wherever he went. And cars-fast cars, race cars, classic cars-Lou loved them all. The Indianapolis 500 was a cherished tradition, and he regularly attended, staying with Michael and Lina in Indianapolis to enjoy family and friends along with pre-race festivities.

Lou was a proud member of the High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) organization and was actively pursuing his goal of driving on various challenging tracks. He was a loyal customer, participant, and coach for Hooked on Driving, where he enjoyed track days in his 240Z and later his Mustang, mentoring beginner drivers along the way.

In addition to his beloved family, Lou leaves behind an enormous circle of friends and colleagues who respected and admired him for his knowledge, wisdom, loyalty, and deep love of people. He will be remembered for his gift of gab, his adventurous spirit, his infectious smile, and his faithful service as a spiritual leader to his family.
