Linda Sue
Funk
August 19, 1949 – December 20, 2025
Linda Sue Funk, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and Nana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Georgetown, Texas, after a lengthy and grace-filled battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Linda was born on August 19, 1949, in El Paso, Texas, to Nena Mae (Hurt) Caldwell and Joseph Martin Caldwell. She grew up in El Paso and was a graduate of Bel Air High School, where she was active in choir, modern dance, social clubs and the Ysleta Baptist Church.
On February 3, 1968, Linda married the love of her life, James Ronald "Jim" Funk. Following Jim's service in the United States Navy, the couple returned to Texas, where they built a life centered on family, fun and hard work. They shared 44 years of marriage before Jim's passing in 2012.
Throughout her life, Linda worked in banking, childcare, preschool education, and for Funk and Company, the family mechanical and electrical contracting business. In every role, Linda was known for her kindness, dedication, and genuine care for others. Even through the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis, she faced life with quiet strength, dignity, and a steadfast love for her family.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Nena and Joe Caldwell; her in-laws, Gloria and Jimmy Funk; her husband, Jim Funk; her brother, Gary Caldwell; her brother-in-law, Robert Miles; and her beloved son, Jeremy Funk.
She is survived by her daughter, Erika Boatright and her husband Carl; her former daughter-in-law, Charla Funk; her three grandchildren, Whitney (Boatright) Jones and husband Jeffery, Haley (Boatright) Goettsch and husband Wyatt, and Chad Funk; and her three great-grandchildren, Emmett and Elizabeth Goettsch, and Evelyn Jones.
She is also survived by her brothers and in-laws: Kenneth Caldwell and wife Pam, Randy Caldwell and wife Pam, Marion Miles, and Marc Funk and wife Diana. Linda was dearly loved by her nieces, nephews, and extended family, including many cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Georgetown Worship Center. A time of fellowship will follow the service in the church parlor.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to The Wesleyan Skilled Nursing and Tranquility Hospice Care for their compassionate care and support.
Arrangements are entrusted to Ramsey Funeral Home. If you feel so led, donations in Linda's memory to benefit Multiple Sclerosis research would be a tremendous Blessing.
