Laura Rogers Baird passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Georgetown Texas at the age of 85.

She was a kind God loving woman that never meet a stranger and loved everyone.

Laura was born on July 20, 1940, in Mantachie Mississippi to Hiram C. and Melovie Rogers, Laura graduated in 1958 from Beaumont High.

Laura worked for the city of Georgetown for over 20 years as a dispatcher and became a reserve Police Officer. After retiring from the police department, she went on to work for St. Davids Hospital as a switch board operator.

Laura is proceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother Michael A. Rogers and nephew Michael Rogers, sons James William Baird III (Malynda) and Joe Thaxton Baird (April), Grandchildren Debra, Brittany, Justin, Amanda, Cody, Katie and Clayton and her 4 great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Tatum, Wrenely and Tristan.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Georgetown Animal Shelter or St Judes Research Hospital.

A Memorial Service celebrating Laura's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home.
