Larry Gene Gray, age 74, passed away peacefully in his home on January 9, 2020.  Larry was born on September 4, 1945 just outside the town of Florence, Texas on CR 228. Larry was the oldest son of Foy and Ruby Gray.

Larry was a lifelong resident of Florence also known as "Possum Gray" who enjoyed fishing, hunting and shooting the bull with all his friends and family.  Larry was a jack of all trades and throughout the years was considered a skilled mechanic as he had worked on pretty much everyone's vehicle at one point or another for miles around.  Larry's hobbies included hot-rods as Pontiac was Larry's favorite car of choice. If Larry could make it run faster, then thats what he set out to do. Larry had always been the person willing to help others without care of what was in it for him, and was always considered to be a man of his word. Larry was not only a father, but a loving grandpa known as "Pa-paw" by all his grandchildren.

Larry Gray is survived by his Mother, Ruby Cantwell, his son Darrell and Wife Debbie, son Phillip and Wife Velma all of Florence.  He has 5 grandsons including DJ, Darrick, Dylan, Padon and Jacob Gray of Florence.  He has 2 granddaughters including Laci, and Hannah Gray of Florence and 1 great-grandson Denym Gray of Florence.  His 3 sisters, MaryLou Brown, Patsy Cosper of Florence and Janice Walker of Kerrville.  He has 1 brother Lynn Gray of Andice.  Many nieces, nephews and friends also remain in Florence.

Larry Gray is preceded in death by his wife Patsy Gray and his father Foy Gray.
Pallbearers include Darrick Gray, Dylan Gray, Padon Gray, Jacob Gray, Tom Ed Atkinson, and Cecil Jenkins.
