A very special person, Kris Smith Hoch, 59, of Liberty Hill, Texas, left this earth on July 2, 2018. Kris was surrounded by her family as she started her journey into the universe. Kris is exploring those regions of love and light that she could only imagine while bound on earth.

Kris was born on April 3, 1959, to Barry Donnell Smith and Beverly Lynne Wilburn Smith Cuellar. Kris grew up and attended schools in Port Lavaca, Texas. Immediately upon graduation from Calhoun High School, Kris hit the road to Houston where she settled and began her adult life. Kris worked as a legal secretary for many years before choosing to stay home and raise her children. As her children grew older, Kris eventually found her passion in real estate. Real estate allowed Kris to nurture her family while helping families find their forever homes.

Kris and her husband, Leon, celebrated 37 years of marriage on February 14, 2018. Together they raised three children in Cypress, Texas. Family and work eventually led them to relocate to the Austin area a couple of years ago. Kris was a wife, mother, mimi, sister, and friend. Kris' greatest joys were her children and grandchildren.

Kris is survived by her husband, Leon Hoch of Liberty Hill; her son and daughter-in-love, Nicholas and Hannah Hoch, along with their children: Ezekiel, Sheridan, and Stevie Hoch of Round Rock; her son, Taylor, and her daughter, Carly Hoch of Liberty Hill; her sister, Kelley and brother-in-law, Mike Felchak of Victoria, her nephew, John Felchak of Austin; her sister Kristy and brother-in-law, Buford, and nieces Lucinda and Corrina Robins of Austin; and father, Mike Cuellar of Victoria.

Kris requested no funeral. Celebrate her life by planting a tree, hugging your loved ones, having a drink or two, climbing a mountain, sailing the ocean, or doing whatever makes you smile. If you desire, donate in Kris' memory to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association, or the Huntington's Disease Society of America.
