King Barnes, age 25, of Hampton, Virginia, was born on April 13, 2000, and entered eternal rest on August 9, 2025.

He is survived by his loving mother, Janaeia Barnes, and father, Adamu K. Hobson; his brother, Kymani Barnes, and sister-in-law, Talise Via; his sister, Traeverse Barnes; along with eight paternal brothers and four paternal sisters. He is also survived by his grandmother, Joanne Smith, with whom he lived and who cherished him deeply.

King's memory will be lovingly carried on by his aunts Khamilia Smith, Toni Smith, Delores Craighead, Glenn Scott, Deidra Melford, and Lonice Scott; his uncles Jason Melford and Sheldon Melford; his great aunt Gail Pyatt; his cousins Ramiah Smith, Gyavonni Coston, and A-Zaria Coston; and his niece, Reigna Barnes. His godparents, Christopher and Robin Belor; his god aunt and uncle, Jessie and Robert Gabriel; and his dear friend Regelio Aguilar, with whom he explored the world, will forever hold his spirit close to their hearts.

King was preceded in death by his grandfather Tony Barnes; great-grandmothers Sylvia Scott and Fanny Barnes; uncle Tony Barnes Jr.; great uncles Kenny Melford and Daryl Scott; grandmother Vanzella A. Stewart; and grandfather Avant J. Hobson. On his paternal side, both of his grandparents were proud members of the Pequot Tribe, a heritage that remains a lasting part of his family's legacy.

King will be remembered as the Lord's Giant - for his strength, his unwavering love, his joyful laughter, and the way he touched every life he encountered. Though his time here was far too short, his light will continue to shine brightly through his family, friends, and all who loved him.

A funeral service will be held on August 23, 2025, at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Dr. Georgetown, Texas 78633. A Celebration of Life is to follow at Dogworx Academy, 138 Cotton Rows Ln. in Taylor, TX 76574.
