Obituary

Kevin Richard Marshall passed peacefully to heaven on March 6, 2025 in Round Rock, Texas.

Kevin had a history of skin cancer, which unfortunately spread further and became terminal. He displayed immense courage during a hard fought battle with tongue and neck cancer. He faced each day with confidence, and peace, with whatever God had in store for him.

Kevin will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. To know Kevin, was to know greatness and to be inspired. He was an absolutely incredible person, and a phenomenal father, husband, brother, son, uncle, grandfather, nephew, and friend. He is, and will always be, a hero to his family. He was a leader by nature, and the positive impact which he had on so many people's lives was profound. He will forever be missed and loved eternally.

Kevin was born on March 5, 1961 in Epping, Essex, England to Patricia Shirley Rose Marshall and Robert Marshall. He emigrated to the United States in 1963 with his parents and brother, Chris. He lived in Chicago, IL, Mequon, WI and Clinton, IA prior to moving to El Paso, TX.

Kevin attended Homestead High School in Mequon, WI, through the middle of his sophomore year. He graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, IA in 1979. He had a great passion for sports and was an impressive athlete. He lettered in football, basketball, cross country and track. During his senior year of high school, he won state in track, in the mile medley relay. He ran the 800 meter anchor leg. This medley relay set the school and state records. The state record stood for 17 years. He earned a Division I track scholarship to the University of Iowa. He attended the University of Iowa his freshman year, and then graduated in 1983 from the University of Texas - Permian Basin, in Odessa, TX, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

Kevin worked at IBM as a sales representative for six years. He became sales manager at PSI Software, an international trade compliance company, in 1989. He then became owner/President of PSI Software from 1992 to 2009. He sold PSI Software to TAKE Solutions in 2009. He worked as General Manager for TAKE Supply Chain until 2011. He earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Ashford University in 2009. He earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History from Adams State University in 2011. He worked as a business broker for GBS Business Brokers from 2012 to 2015. He moved to Round Rock, TX in 2015.

During Kevin's career at PSI Software, he worked tirelessly, not just for the benefit of his family, but for each individual employee and their families. His coworkers and friends say to this day that Kevin put his team members before himself, especially during tougher moments. He made decisions with everyone in mind and made sure that each individual, and their families, were taken care of. It is amazing to hear stories from so many people who have shared how Kevin directly influenced the outcomes of their careers, and the lives they have today.  Kevin built an incredible legacy-- not just in business, but in the lives he touched.

Kevin married his lovely wife, Ruth Garner, in 1987 in El Paso, TX and they started a wonderful family. Kylie Lauren was born in 1990, Troy Garner in 1992, and Garrett James in 1995. They enjoyed many years of traveling as a family for soccer, basketball, cross country and track competitions.

Kevin was an extremely proud father and grandfather. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate his children and grandchildren. All the way up until his last breath, he put every ounce of his energy into making sure things were in order for his family. He never took a single moment with his family and friends for granted.

Kevin had an unforgettable sense of humor. He thoroughly enjoyed making his family and friends laugh and smile. He never missed an opportunity for a silly prank or to tell a funny joke. The deep love that Kevin had for a joyous life, full of laughter, is what will carry his friends and family through.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Ruth, and children; Kylie Klepper (Christopher), Troy (Leah), and Garrett; his sister, Carolyn Gorman (Charlie), and sister-in-law, Cindy; his brothers, Bobby (Stephanie), Brad, and Britt. He was so loved, also, by his nieces and nephews: Ryan M., Erin, Ryan G., Jacob, Haley, Christopher, James, Hannah, Samantha, Elizabeth, Jay, Travis and Thomas; and his grandchildren, Ella and Jack Klepper, who adored their "G-Pop." Special thanks to Donna Fischer. He so enjoyed going on many adventurous walks with his beloved dog, Dottie.

He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Patricia Marshall, and his brother, Chris Marshall.
