In Loving Memory of Richard Tull

Kenneth Richard Tull, 81, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Richard was born on August 20, 1944, in Manhattan, Kansas, and was raised in Emporia, Kansas, by his parents, Kenneth and Esther Tull. After the death of his father in 1960, he moved with his mother and sister to Austin, Texas, to be near his mother's sister. He attended Austin High School, where lifelong friendships were formed and the foundation was laid for a life defined by hard work, resilience, and an unwavering love for family.

Throughout his life, Richard wore many hats. He worked as a beautician, ambulance driver during the University of Texas tragedy in 1966, daycare owner, check control business owner, bail bondsman, landscaping business owner, car salesman, home builder, and finally, crappie fishing guide. No matter the job, he gave it his all and took pride in doing it well.

Richard was a dreamer, an entrepreneur, and someone who was never afraid to start over. Whether he was building a business, watching his children play golf, fishing, cooking, or planning his next project, he found joy in staying busy and imagining what was possible. He approached every challenge with determination, optimism, and resourcefulness. Richard was his family's biggest cheerleader- more than anything, he believed in them. He encouraged his children to chase their dreams and showed them by example that with hard work and perseverance, anything was possible. To know him was to love him. He never met a stranger, and before long, strangers became friends. His generous spirit, easy laugh, and genuine interest in people left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

On February 21, 1976, he married the love of his life, Ellen Allison Tull. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, faith, adventure, and countless memories. In February of this year, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary-a milestone that reflected the extraordinary life they shared together.

His most recent chapter was spent as a crappie fishing guide on Lake LBJ, where he turned his love of fishing into a way of bringing joy to others. Every trip was filled with laughter, stories, and usually a boat full of crappie. He took great pride in his boat, always finding ways to improve it or add another special touch. And no fishing trip was complete without saving a fresh crappie fillet for his beloved cat, Roscoe. Through his years as a guide, he made many treasured friendships that became an important part of his life.

For the past five years, Richard had been ill, and during that time Ellen devoted her life to ensuring he received the very best care possible. We are especially grateful for the love and compassionate care provided by very special caregivers, Cris Berrios, Erica Esquivel, Becca Morraquin, and Hospice Nurse, Chanda Luna, whose kindness, patience, and dedication brought comfort and dignity to Richard and peace to his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Esther Tull, and his sisters, Judy Lill and Mary Tull.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ellen Tull; his children, Kenneth Tull (Megan Tull), Riki Lynn Dailey (Mike Dailey), Ryan Tull (Brandi Tull), and Brooke Tull; his cherished grandchildren, Alyson Mikeska (Randy Mikeska), Katelyn Tull, Cecilia Tull, Destinee Mann, Avery Roberts, Abigail Tull, Tripp Tull, and Jase Tull; and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

We find comfort in imagining him exactly where he would want to be-catching the biggest crappie in heaven, swapping stories with friends, and enjoying a lively game of baccarat or craps. We will miss his laughter, his stories, his steady encouragement, and the way he made everyone feel like family.

We love you, Dad. We know you are flying high and watching over us until we meet again.

Papa, Junebug, Dickie, Mr. T, Mr. Big...you will be missed beyond words.

A private memorial service will be held at The Oaks Gracious Living. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 2-4 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
