Obituary

Kenneth Sonesen came into this world September 25, 1963 in Arendal, Norway and was called home to the Lord on June 25, 2024 in Forest, Mississippi. Throughout his life, he traveled the world and always had a taste for adventure. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went.

Kenneth met Sonja when he was 27 in New Orleans, Louisiana. They soon fell in love, got married, and started a family. Shortly after they got married, they moved to Norway for several years, where their oldest daughter, Shelby, was born. Eventually, they moved back to the States and settled in Picayune, Mississippi, where their second daughter, Paige, was born. After a few years, Kenneth and Sonja decided to move to Louisiana and later relocated to central Texas. There, Kenneth adopted his two youngest children, Erik and Noel Sonesen, and then his family was complete.

Kenneth was a fun loving family man who always enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and cooking out. The water always seemed to call him; he loved spending time at the lake or on a boat. Even though Kenneth was over 5,000 miles from where he grew up, he always managed to keep family closest to his heart. He woke up early almost every day to call his mother, Solveig. He often shared stories of his childhood; some of his fondest memories were by the river at his grandmother's house.

Kenneth was a valuable friend and an irreplaceable family member. He left this world too soon, but it is a great comfort to us to know he is at peace with the Lord and in the company of dear friends and family who have gone before him.

Kenneth will be missed dearly and loved, always.
