Kay was a strong-willed, hard-working woman. She brought an unwavering focus and attention to detail to projects where she was involved. As a youth, dance was her passion, particularly ballet. As a young adult, her children were her focus. She worked many jobs, but she was extremely proud of her service in the Army. When she became semi-retired, she still felt the need to contribute to her community and worked with The Worship Place in Sun City.

You always knew where you stood with Kay, because she would tell you. She was frank, clear, and decisive. Kay was also meticulous and careful – her attention to detail enabled her considerable successes throughout life. She had an acerbic wit that would jump up and get you, if you thought to take her for granted. That wit couldn't hide the depth of her dedication and caring, which is what her friends and family will always remember.

Kay was always helping others. She was committed to her children; she helped them through thick and thin throughout her life. Kay retired as a First Sergeant, dedicated to taking care of the needs of her team. Kay was also committed to her church community, particularly at Sun City in The Worship Place. While in Sun City, Kay was involved with golf, veterans support, Daughters of the American Revolution, friends, and the church. She greatly enjoyed each Texas morning, drinking a black coffee, sitting on her porch, and talking with those important to her.

Services will be held on May 4, 2023, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas at 10:00 am, with burial at 10:30 am. An additional service will be held at The Worship Place in Sun City at 2:00 pm with Kelly Barnett, officiating.
