Kathleen Marie Maher, 77, of Houston Texas, passed away on August 3, 2025 in Houston.

Kathy (known to many of her friends as Maggie) was born in Manchester, New Hampshire to Bill and Ruth Maher on July 22, 1948. She graduated from South Houston High School in 1966 then attended the University of Houston as a National Merit Scholar.

Kathy worked as a database developer at Freelance Inc and later as a legal secretary for Houston attorney Gabe Nahas. She joined M D Anderson Hospital as Lead Database Developer for the Stem Cell Transplantation Group, retiring after 31 years.

In addition to her main occupations, for many years Kathy was a key employee at the Family Hand, Of Our Own and Liberty Hall restaurants and music venues.

Kathleen is preceded in death by parents William Patrick Maher and Ruth Conklin Maher.

Kathleen is survived by brother William Patrick Maher and his wife Becky Maher, sister Mary Ruth Maher, Nieces Erin Maher Zehr and Kimberly Maher Correa and their husbands and children. She is also survived by cousins in the Maher and Conklin families.

There will be a private ceremony with family in attendance.

Kathleen Maher was brilliant, talented and loved the Houston music and art scenes. She will be missed by her family and friends.
