Hartman
March 24, 1954 – February 15, 2025
Karen Ann Stout was born March 24, 1954 to Alden C. Stout and Novice Morris Stout. She grew up in Beaumont, Texas and graduated from French High School in 1972. Just one month after graduation, on June 30, 1972, Karen married her eternal companion Darrell Hartman in the Salt Lake City temple.
Karen was a devoted daughter of God and served many callings for The Church of Jesus Christs of Latter-Saints. She loved working with the Primary children and enjoyed years of service as Primary President.
Her service extended into all aspects of her life. She enjoyed a 27-year career with the Georgetown Independent School District, as the Secretary of Nutrition Services helping families qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. She felt she was where she was meant to be, ensuring kids had a hot meal even during the summer months. She also worked for the American Red Cross receiving a 20-year pin for teaching swim lessons and parenting classes.
Karen is remembered for her kindness, compassion, and acceptance of everyone she met. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years Darrell Hartman, her 4 daughters, Nicole Nanyes, Natalie Hartman (Mark), Jackie Kruzie (Nate), Hilary Nunn (Jeff), 12 grandchildren, Scott Oettli (Sylvia), Cameron Humphrey, Connor Mouser, Jamie Shofner, Hunter Kruzie (Lanie), Payton Humphrey, Preston Hartman, Leah Shofner, Jackson Kruzie, Jenna Nunn, Anna Kruzie, Grace Kruzie, and 4 great-grandchildren Skylar Oettli, Spencer Oettli, Suede Humphrey, Seth Oettli.
