Justus Wesley
Embry, Jr.
February 13, 1949 – June 9, 2024
In Loving Memory of
Justus Wesley Embry Jr.
Born on February 13, 1949
At home in Rineyville, Kentucky
Passed at home in Taylor Texas on June 09, 2024
Justus Attended Durit High School in Louisville, Kentucky. He attended Jones College where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in engineering and computer programing in 1988, and a Business Management degree in Marketing in 1992.
He spent some time as a U.S. Marine, then worked for the IRS, and a few other jobs within his degrees. Yet, he was an outdoor fella by heart and chose farming, ranch work, construction, and masonry over indoor work most of his life. His final job was quality control management in Kentucky, where he retired.
The thing he loved most was his children and grandchildren, where during retirement he helped homeschool and spent his days playing with them, attending games, events and activities and loved being their papaw. He bowled in leagues for many years and in 1982 he advanced in the pro circuit taking a 3rd and 9th place national spot before retiring to be a single dad. He bowled in local leagues with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid supporter and advocate for local fire departments and St. Jude's and Kosairs.
He adored nature, plants, animals and the horses, spending his morning watching them out back every day with a cup of coffee, a barn cat in his lap and a pup at his feet. He was the kindest, most gentle soul with a heart of gold and fierce spirit for fighting for others. He was devoted to his family!
He is survived by his daughter, Justina Embry Chapman; son, Johnathan Chapman; eight grandchildren: Makayla, Cheyann, Katelyn, Kaylee, Elizabeth, Emmaleigh, Adalina, and Zachary of Taylor, Texas.
Son, Charles Embry and three granddaughters: Amanda, Krystal, and Amber of Washington.
His sister and brother, Martha and Roger Green of Dukedom Tn, brothers: Larry Gilliland of Union City, Tn, Herbert Gilliland of South Fulton Tn, Fred Gilliland of Fulton, Ky, and many cherished nieces and nephews!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Justus W. Embry Sr. and Mellav Gilliland; and his brothers: Thomas and David Gilliland; and sisters-in-law: Robin Gilliland and Martha Lawler.
Justus leaves behind a beautiful legacy of immense love, faith, strength, integrity and a beautiful lifetime of memories cherished by many!
