Obituary

Joy Lou Morgan Hall, 77, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, in Georgetown, Texas. Born on June 17, 1947, in Walla Walla, Washington, to Wesley and Lucille Morgan, Joy's life was a testament to the power of faith and family.

Joy's journey took her from the halls of Ozark Academy in Gentry, Arkansas, to Southwestern Junior College in Keene, Texas, and then to San Antonio, Texas, where she earned her nursing degree. She found her calling as a Registered Nurse, dedicating her career to caring for others, especially as an OB/GYN nurse at University Hospital in San Antonio.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was a mother to four sons: Joseph (spouse Lourdes), James, Jonathan (spouse Michelle), and Jeremy (spouse Shannon). She adored her granddaughters, Morgan and Megan (Jonathan and Michelle's daughters), and Lucy (Jeremy and Shannon's daughter), showering them with love and creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Joy was a woman of many passions. She loved to country two-step, anything leopard print, hairstyling, candle making, and painting, embracing life with enthusiasm. She found solace and joy in playing the piano, and her musical gifts enriched the services at her beloved Seventh-day Adventist Church in Georgetown, where she was a faithful member and active in the Sunshine Band until her health declined. Her faith was her anchor, providing strength and comfort throughout her life. She loved watching 3ABN and reading her Bible.

Joy's heart overflowed with compassion. She was a fierce advocate for women, generously supporting the local women's shelter and abuse center. She also had a soft spot for her dachshunds, Gato and Annabel, who were constant companions and brought her much joy. She was blessed with a special friendship with Aly, whom she considered a daughter, and whose loving care was invaluable.

Joy's warm and generous spirit touched the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed by her sons and their families, her siblings, Carol (spouse Floyd) and Clifford (spouse Kay), her dear friend Aly, and a host of other family and friends who loved her dearly.

A celebration of Joy's life will be held on March 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Georgetown Seventh-day Adventist Church, with a small reception following. Pastor Keith Lim will be officiating.
