Obituary

Mr. Joseph Wiggins, son of the late William Wiggins and Dorothy (Perry) Wiggins was born on October 23, 1951, at St. Catherines Hospital in East Chicago, Indiana. He was proceeded in death by both of his parents and his eldest brother, Ralph Wiggins. Joseph was an avid reader and writer and upon graduating high school early, decided to enlist in the United States Airforce, ranking as Sargent as a Pharmaceutical Specialist, stationed at the Bergstrom Airforce Base in Austin, Texas.

Even though Joseph was a bit of a “loner” he met his perfect counterpart while attending college in Vincennes, Indiana, his beloved Elizabeth Jean Walden. Joseph was united in holy matrimony to his beautiful wife, Elizabeth Jean Wiggins (Walden) in Wichita Falls, Texas on February 3rd, 1970, and spent 42 dedicated years with his wife (until her passing in October 2012) and family as a strong leader, making sure the focus remained on being an evangelistic follower of Jesus Christ.

After retiring, Joseph spent even more time in the word of God. His favorite radio station was WMBI 90.1 FM (Moody Bible Institute). His favorite radio ministers were Chuck Swindoll, Charles Stanley and Erwin Lutzer.

Joseph leaves behind his daughters Andrea Elizabeth Wiggins, Tasha Suzanne Wiggins and Tina Nicole Ramirez as well as an only granddaughter, Jayde Rylee Ramirez. In addition to being cherished by his daughters and granddaughter, he will also be cherished by his son-in-law, brother and sisters in law, nephews, and extended family.

Joseph made his transition, surrounded by his family and loved ones on August 20, 2026, after an aggressive fight with pancreatic cancer.

Joseph will be remembered for his dedication and commitment to the word of God and spreading the love of Jesus Christ to all he encountered. He will be remembered for not only his commitment to the word of God and wisdom but also his sense of humor and disciplined lifestyle.

Joseph’s one purpose was to be a witness for the Lord, and he was dedicated to sharing his biblical knowledge with his family and surrounding community until he was called home to be reunited with his beloved wife and worshipped Lord.
