John Dennis
Clark
January 18, 1967 – March 24, 2026
John Dennis Clark was born on January 18th, 1967, in Lynn, Massachusetts, where he grew up with his parents, John and Diane (McKinnon) Clark. John was adventurous and independent from an early age, earning his degree in computer science from Framingham State University in 2002. Ever curious, John continued his education by earning his MBA from Texas State
University in 2025. He worked as a project manager and software engineer for the Texas Real Estate Commission, bringing dedication, thoughtfulness, and much needed leadership and order to all the work he did.
John was a kid at heart, embracing life with humor and joy. He loved 90s punk, film and TV, informal attire, cryptids, and roadtripping with his wife, Kate. A lifelong board game enthusiast, John brought family and friends together to play games of all types, solving mysteries and crafting strategies around the table until late into the night. His passion for storytelling may have originated from too many hours spent playing Dungeons and Dragons, but eventually drove him to become a twice-published author, co-writing a young adult book with his daughter and later completing an occult historical fantasy novel of his own.
He was a devoted and loving father to his children Julian and AG and with them he left his silly sense of humor, his love of reading and writing, as well as his appreciation for everything strange. Not many fathers would get matching tattoos with their daughter, but that’s just the kind of guy he was.
John passed away on March 24, 2026, surrounded by loving family and friends. Even during his last days in the hospital, he still managed to make the ICU team laugh, cracking jokes right up to the end.
Remaining to cherish John's memory are his beloved wife, Kate Ryan; children, Julian Clark and Anna Gaby Clark, their mother Lorena de la Garza-Clark; and stepchildren, Delia and James.
He leaves behind a world that is quieter without him, and a whole lot of people who are kinder, funnier, and more open to the bizarre for having known him. His stories will live on in those that loved him, as will his laughter.
A celebration of John's life will be held on April 12, 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Teravista Community Clubhouse. Event details may be found at https://www.forevermissed.com/j-clark.
