Renfro

In Loving Memory of Jimmie May McHaney Renfro
April 24, 1930 – April 30, 2025
Jimmie May McHaney Renfro, 95, of Georgetown, Texas, passed peacefully from this life on April 30, 2025. A devoted Christian, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Jimmie's life was a shining example of faith, love, and service.
Born in Seminole, Texas in 1930 to Leslie and Ruby McHaney, Jimmie was the third of four children. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; sister, Virginia Teague; brother, Virgil McHaney; and brother Edward McHaney, who was missing in action during the Korean War. Her love for her family and deep roots in West Texas remained central throughout her life.
Jimmie married John Renfro, and together they built a family grounded in faith, hard work, and compassion. She is survived by her three children: Ben Renfro (Carol), Johnna Renfro Waldrop (Jay), and Tana Renfro Croley (James). Her legacy lives on through her four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy. She was their greatest supporter and loved attending games, school activities and celebrations.
A faithful member of the Church of Christ, Jimmie served her Andrews congregation in countless ways. She taught Sunday School and Ladies Bible Class, worked diligently in the church library, and was a faithful member of the church meal committee. Her warm spirit and willingness to serve were a comfort to many throughout the years.
Jimmie's last job outside the home was with Sears and Roebuck, where her work ethic and kind heart were evident to all, but her true life's work was in her home. She was an expert seamstress and quilter, known for her impeccable handiwork and creativity. She loved to bake and was known for her homemade yeast rolls. Her love of gardening was evident from her beautiful rose garden, which was a place of joy for her.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, two organizations close to her heart.
Jimmie lived a full and beautiful life and she will be dearly missed. Her love and legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
