Obituary

Jim Myers, age 85, of  Round Rock, Texas passed away on February 26, 2025. He was surrounded by his family and friends in his last days.

Jim was born on March 13, 1939 in Minneapolis Minnesota. His parents. who preceded him in death, were Harold Arthur. Myers and Edith Anderson Myers.

He attended De La Salle High School, and the University of Minnesota.

He was drafted by the army in 1961 and spent his army career at Fort Lee Va. His unit was deployed to the coast of  Florida during the Cuban Crisis.

Jim pursued a career in radio broadcasting. And was an on- air personality at WHAP in Petersburg,Va. & WRRR in Rockford,Illinois.He worked for KYA Radio and KRON TV  in San Francisco, and was the General Manager of KSFO radio.

He was a fan of the  SF. Giants The Oakland A's, the Warriors  and was fortunate to often  travel with the San Francisco 49ers. He also loved to play golf and was a member of the Olympic Club.

He was ordained a Deacon in the Catholic Church on June 29, 1999, and except for his children and grandchildren, considered that to be his greatest accomplishment.

He served as a Deacon at both Saint Isabella's Church in San Rafael and Saint Paul's Church in San Francisco.

Known for his wonderful homilies, his humor and kindness, he touched the lives of many.

Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Myers, his children Sherri Myers Breitner (Brad), Stacey Myers Garry (Sean) Jamie Myers (Jennifer).

His seven grandchildren Jackson McNatt, Cooper McNatt, Tommy Garry, Shannon Garry, Tyler Myers (Courtney)  Travis Myers, Jake Myers, and his sister Sharon Myers.
