Hi, my name is Jill and after 69 years I have passed from this life to eternal life with my friend, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I don't want to waste much time talking about me. My friends and family already know me. If you are reading this and we have never met, I regret that we never got to know each other.
So, what do I want to talk about? I want to spend the next few moments talking about Jesus Christ.
I first got to know Jesus as a child when I watched the Billy Graham Crusades on television with my mom. When Billy talked about Jesus, I knew that I wanted to know him.
Later, as an 18-year old laying in a hospital bed paralyzed from the neck down following an accident, I asked Jesus to come into my life and to help me. I leaned on a verse from scripture, Romans 8:28 (NASB), which says, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." This promise became the cornerstone of my faith and life for the next 50 years, and I bear witness to you that it is true!
Jesus blessed me enormously in the months, years and decades that followed. Not only did he heal me to the point of being able to walk again, but he provided for, cared for and loved me throughout my life. He blessed me with a wonderful husband and two wonderful sons. He gave my sons two very special wives, and he gave me two incredibly energetic and kind grandchildren. And he filled my life with wonderfully caring and supportive friends. Most importantly, he paid for my sins on the cross and has given me eternal life with him in Heaven.
We all need Jesus, and scripture tells us how: "... if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved." Romans 10:9-10 (ESV)
If you don't already know Jesus, please consider doing so. I'll rejoice with you in Heaven when you arrive!
