Jay Warren passed away on September 23, 2024, after a 3-year battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma at the Christopher House Hospice in Austin, TX.    Jay was born in Oyster Bay, NY to Sue Ellen (Donnelly) Warren and Harry Joseph Warren on March 14, 1963.

Anyone who knew Jay will immediately understand that he had a warrior spirit.  He was originally given 90 days when diagnosed and his will to do whatever medically possible to keep it at bay stretched those 90 days to 3 years for which is family is eternally grateful.

Jay believed that his cancer was a blessing.  When asked, how so, his reply would be that it gave him so many opportunities to share the love of Jesus, provide his own witness and offer loving encouragement to those who were dealing with troubles in their lives.  Opportunities that he otherwise would not have had.  He was rock solid in his Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kathryn (Kitty) Warren, children Joseph Warren (Lauren), Christopher Warren (Rachel), Brian Warren; brother Douglas Warren (Kristen), father Joe Warren, beloved cousin Jill Thomas (Ron), grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jay was that one in a million person who was genuinely happy all the time.  His friends and family will miss him answering their question of "how are you?" with an enthusiastic "awesome blossom!"  When asked how he maintained his happy state he would reply, "hey!  There's no joy with Jay!"

He loved big.

His family, friends, and the city of Georgetown.  He served on the Planning & Zoning Board and the Transportation Board for many years.  He was also very active with the Salvation Army's Red Kettle operations and really enjoyed this way of contributing to the community.  He was active in Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, completed the Georgetown Leadership program, was active in his church as a volunteer to greet people…he would do whatever was needed and never shied away from volunteering.

He was immensely proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps after High School.  "Once a Marine, always a Marine."  He went on to graduate from George Mason University.

He found his calling in real estate and was the Managing Partner for the Berkshire Hathaway office in Georgetown.  He ADORED working with DeDe and Rick Jenkins and everyone within their brokerage.  They became a beloved work family for him.

He loved wearing the most colorful paisley shirts on the face of the planet, riding his Harley to appointments, and never met a stranger.

The world is not quite as bright without Jay.

The family will host a "Celebration of Life" party for Jay after the holidays.  The exact date and location to be determined.

In lieu of flowers he would prefer that you donate to the Salvation Army Williamson County or Christopher House hospice in Austin where they lovingly cared for him until the end.

The best way to honor Jay is to find joy each day.  Help someone without asking.  Show kindness to all.  Engage in your community.  Live your life to the fullest.
