James Royce Knight, age 89 of Georgetown, Texas passed away peacefully on March 29th, 2024. James was born November 8, 1934, in a farmhouse outside of Hico, Texas to Biery and Henry Knight. James attended Hico schools and was active in all sports. He graduated as the Valedictorian of the class of 1952. James married Peggy Warren on January 21, 1956. After attending the University of Texas for one year, he joined the United States Navy and served for four years, being deployed twice to the Far East during the Korean and Vietnam wars. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, James worked as an electronic technician and manager for IBM for over 30 years. In his retirement, James remodeled old homes and ran a small business.

Survivors include daughter Pamela Copeland (Scott) and son Paul Knight (Heather) of Georgetown, grandchildren Jennifer Boone, Matthew Boone, Tyler Knight (Carragan), and sister Betty Dunn. James was preceded in death by his parents, wife Peggy, and brothers Alan, Wendell, and Joe.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday April 13, 2024, 2:00pm at the IOOF Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas. Reception immediately to follow graveside service at James' home.
