Obituary

James "Jim" Arthur Erbstoesser of Florence, TX passed away on May 21, 2023 at the age of 74. He was born September 12, 1948 in Baraboo, Wisconsin to James Albert Erbstoesser and Lorraine Edith Holdridge. He proudly served in the Marines from 1968 - 1970 and earned the rank of corporal. He worked as a truck driver for the majority of his adult life and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Jim loved his faith and his family, especially his five sons and was a constant presence in each of their lives. When he wasn't spending time with his children or grandchildren, he enjoyed serving in his church and being a loyal friend. His two favorite activities were rodeo and boxing. He supported many worthwhile causes throughout his life, and encouraged his sons to do the same. He was a fiercely patriotic American and greatly valued the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. Driven largely by Jim's encouragement and support, all of his sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in The Boy Scouts of America program, served full-time two-year missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and completed their 4-year college degrees. His greatest contributions in life came as a father to his sons, and a grandfather to his grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Thomas John Erbstoesser (49).

To cherish his memory, Jim leaves behind his sons: Pace Erbstoesser and wife Jennifer, Travis Erbstoesser, Zachary Erbstoesser, John Erbstoesser, and Houston Erbstoesser and wife Amanda; his sisters: Nancy, Mary Beth, and Lori; his 12 grandchildren: Sterling, Reagan, Grace, Briella, Haesel, Jensen, Bennett, Azalene, Kennedy, McCall, August, and Ellis; and his aunt and uncle, Myrna and John "Jack" Holdridge.
