Obituary

Our precious Husband, Dad, PaPa, Brother, Uncle & friend James Arthur Davidson, Sr. left for his Heavenly Home on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the age of 91 years. At the end of his earthly life he was at his home of almost 67 years surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Andice, Texas on April 21, 1925 to Willie Dean & Myrtle Tennessee Montgomery Davidson. He was number four of eight children.

James proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II 1944-1946. During that time he was on an amphibious personnel assault transport, and participated in combat during Japanese kamikaze plane attacks. He made three crossings to the South Pacific.

James met his love, Betty Jane Kirsche of Taylor, and they married February 19, 1949. They moved to their new home east of Georgetown where they raised twins Dennis & Pam, followed by son Buster (James Jr). James served on the AMPI Board of Directors for 15 years, and received numerous awards including the Top Dairy Producer for several years. James, Betty and their sons operated the Dairy for 50 years, closing the business in February 2000. In August 2000 James lost his Love & his business partner of almost 52 years.

James was a member of the Georgetown Rotary Club for 32 years and is a Paul Harris Fellow.

In 2003 James met Frieda Oertli Ryden who had lost her husband Everett in 1999. Frieda told a cousin that she needed someone who can open jars. James' first words to Frieda were "Do you Drive?"!!! And a marriage of convenience was born! But during the following 13 years James & Frieda successfully and lovingly wove his 3 children & spouses, her 4 children & spouses, and many grandchildren & great-grandchildren into a large blended family!

James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty Davidson; his brothers Dub (& Catherine), Johnny (& Jean), & Harley; sisters Maxine (& Sonny) Hutchinson, Joye (& Jack) Gold, and Margaret (& Marvin) Brown.

He is survived by wife Frieda Davidson, sons Dennis & wife Pam and Buster & wife Wanda, and daughter Pam & husband Joe Martin; Sister Nell & husband Lloyd Steger; sister-in-law Shirley Davidson; 72 combined bonus children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.
