In Sun City, Texas, James Costan, son of Donald Costan and his wife Sharon, brother of John and Melody Costan, uncle of Braiden Costan, Kelsey and her husband Parker Rhine, and great uncle to Fisher and Tatum Rhine, was called by God on April 14, 2024

James, a native of Sacramento, CA, and Napa, CA, recently retired to Texas in 2022. James graduated from Sacramento State College in 1985 with a degree in Physical Education and taught in the Sacramento School District from 1984 to 1997. He also moved to Sweden as the head coach of a Swedish youth football team. He moved to Napa, CA, to become the head football coach at Vintage High School. He taught there for 28 years until his retirement.

Jame's teaching skills and his expertise in all phases of the game as well as his concerns for his players were well respected. James loved being a coach and watching the kids develop. He said coaching was the greatest thing you can do.
