Obituary

Inez Virginia (Krauss) Weiss was called to her eternal home on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the age of 95 years. Inez, daughter of Lillie V. (Rust) and Carlie W. Krauss, was born November 7, 1928 in Ledbetter, Texas. She was baptized as a child of God on December 23,1928 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings, Texas. At the age of 5, Inez's mother passed away. She, along with her dad, lived with her paternal grandparents, Fred and Ella Krauss until she graduated high school. On April 18, 1943, Inez affirmed her faith through confirmation at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. Her confirmation verse was John 10:27-28. "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."

After graduating from Giddings High School in 1946, Inez began working for the Lower Colorado River Authority in Giddings where she later met Louis Walter "Dick" Weiss. Louis Walter and Inez married on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. They were later blessed with two children, a son, Gregory Charles and a daughter, Virginia Gail.

After Louis Walter accepted a job with Alcoa, the family moved to Rockdale, Texas where Inez began working for Rockdale State Bank. She ended a 20-year banking career as a bank officer. When not working, she enjoyed traveling, sporting events, and western swing festivals, but most of all, visiting with family and friends.

Inez was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church, Rockdale and served in various ways. She had a servant heart always helping others. After Louis Walter passed away in 2005, Inez decided to move to Georgetown, Texas where she became a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She always enjoyed the senior activities and often helped with Lutheran Braille Workers.

Inez loved her family dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Basset and husband, Randy, and her daughter-in-law, Teri Weiss. She also leaves behind her beloved grandkids Robyn Bray and husband, Mark, Krista Stegemiller and husband, Jason, Eric Weis and wife, Danielle, and Cory Weiss and wife, Brittany. Inez treasured being Great Granny to Abigail and Luke Bray, James and Ella Louis Stegemiller, and Parker Jean Weiss. She cherished her other family members; sisters-in-law, Madeline Blasienz, Verbie Weiss, and Vallie Jatzlau in addition to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.,

Preceding her in death and called home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are her beloved husband, Louis Walter and her dear son, Gregory Charles. Also preceding her are her parents, and family members: Ruth and Ervin Stern, Dorothy Weiss, Luther Weiss, Josephine and Leonard Addicks, John Blasienz, Clemence and Doris Weiss, James Stern, Adele Krauss, Jack Jatzlau, and Susan Jatzlau.
