Obituary

Hildah Jane Baldwin, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 15, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie, in December of 2016.  She leaves behind her daughter, Barbara Mott and husband Wilburn; grandson, Barry Mott and wife Chrissie and granddaughter Hillary Calahan and husband Jeremy, and four great grandchildren, Rylan and Addyson Mott and Landry and Chloe Calahan.  She was a member of Andice Baptist Church.

Hildah was born in McCamey, TX, January 6, 1930 to George and Pearl Moss where her father was working in the oil fields.  Hildah lived her early childhood years outside of Hearne, TX in a community called Benchley. There were a lot of special memories she made there with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all lived nearby.  She enjoyed all of the farm animals and the country life.  She often told stories about riding a billy goat through the woods to see her cousins. When one of her little animals would die, she would take her little toy piano down into the woods and have her own special little service for them. Each one of her family members had a horse. She often said if there was one thing she thought she could still do it was "ride a horse." Her great-grandchildren loved to hear her tell stories of living on the farm! She attended Five Points Baptist Church as a child and also attended elementary school there with her siblings, Marie and Bubba. Later, when Hildah was in her early teens her Dad took a job in Houston and they moved there. She attended Jr. High and High School (Milby) in Houston.  She met the love of her life, Eddie, and they married in June of 1947. They celebrated 69 years of marriage in June of 2016.

Summer vacations were always spent in New Braunfels, TX. When Eddie retired in 1980, they moved to New Braunfels where they spent 34 years. In 2014, Eddie's health was declining so they decided they wanted to be closer to their family. What a blessing for them to be around their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Everyone that knew Hildah, knew of her love for Branson, Missouri and the Ozarks.  She loved country music and ole' time gospel music. She also loved watching her grandchildren fish for trout on the Taneycomo. We have so many special memories of our family trips to Branson, as recent as last November, 2018. Barbara, Hillary, Chrissie and the four great-granddaughters drove to Branson and spent a week seeing all of the sights and shows, wheelchair and all! She didn't miss out on anything! She enjoyed it so much and wanted to make sure everyone else did too.

She was an "Angel"... she always thought of everyone else's needs and wants first! She was always willing to help people out when they needed her! She was a "true friend" to many.  She was the most patient, kind, and sweet person and loved the Lord.  Her family was everything to her. Numerous friends have extended their feelings about her to her family. "She was like a second Mother to them."

She is in heaven now eternally with Jesus and those who have gone on before her. Rest in peace.
