Hernestina Chavez
Ramirez
November 19, 1941 – March 16, 2026
Hernestina Chavez Montemayor Ramirez was born on November 19, 1941 to Cayetano Chavez and Guadalupe Robles in San Angelo, TX. Due to their passing she was then adopted, along with her sisters, Herminia and Josefina, by Luis and Tarina Montemayor. Through her journey of life she was wedded twice, she was married to Cayetano Ramirez for 30 years and resided in Florence, Tx for 43 years.
Hernestina was known throughout the school districts as custodial engineer and as well as in the school cafeteria. She also worked for several years in the food industry, such as Taco Cabana, The Store and many others. Her work ethic was phenomenal due to her parents who instilled those work ethics.
Hernestina Ramirez was an amazing woman, she had many tragedies in life that made her and her family strong. Her sensitive side though is what really made her like a saint! When you would see her or meet her she was always involved in church through her faith in God. You could see her even as we speak, praying the Rosary. She was very passionate about the Rosary, daily prayers, her English and Spanish bible which encouraged her to learn how to read.
She was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. We should remember her the most by her sense of humor, like the Looney Tunes, her music like the song Mariachi Loco which explains her colorful nature.
Hernestina Ramirez was battling Multiple Myeloma, which she was officially diagnosed with in July 2025. She is leaving her passion of life to her legacy of children, Steven and Krystal Ruiz and Tammy and Mario Olguin. She also leaves her passion of life to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Crystal Pachicano, Katina Ruiz, Ashley Pachicano, Paul Jr Pachicano, Aaron Ruiz, Samantha Long, John Albert Ruiz, Diego Ruiz, Thomas Ruiz, Robert Ruiz, Emma Ruiz, Maverick Ruiz, Serena Saenz, Ezekiel Pachicano, T’Kira Pachicano, Illiana Pachicano, Sophia Pachicano, Neveah Pachicano, Reigen Ruiz, Aaliyah Pachicano, David Long, and Milano Pachicano. She is now joining her son John Albert Ruiz, sister Josefina Bustillos, grandchildren and great grandchildren Lauren Ruiz, Janessa Ruiz, Diego F Ruiz, Loren Ruiz, and Haley Ruiz.
Hernestina Ramirez was a colorful individual so therefore at her request, no black is to be worn. She wanted her adventure to be celebrated in color.
We as a family wish her a safe journey to her new life and adventures.
